Westward Garage started business in Strokestown in 1959, and in 1976 Jim Callery secured the franchise for Scania Trucks & Buses for the Republic of Ireland. At that time Scania had a tiny presence in Ireland and Westward Garage initially sold trucks throughout the Republic. During the 1970’s and 80’s a dealer network developed, and Westward has maintained a retail presence in Strokestown since then, with a customer base that stretches from Clare to Donegal, Tipperary to Galway and Westmeath to Mayo.
