Assistant Manager – Parts Department

The Company
Westward Scania, based in Strokestown is the distributor of Scania products in the Republic of Ireland since 1976.
The Role
The company are seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Parts Department. The candidate will support the Scania Distributor Parts manager and complete operational duties in the department with particular emphasis on meeting customer and departmental demands in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a team to support both the distributor and Scania dealer network parts sales operations, the duties will include the following:
- Supporting the Scania dealer network on various parts projects.
- Communication with Scania CV AB & Scania Parts Logistics Centre.
- Stock Management and Parts Logistics.
- Production of weekly, monthly and annual reports for Parts Department.
- Managing Office team to include;
- Processing of supplier invoices
- Processing freight documentation.
- Processing Parts returns and credits.
- Managing annual parts stock check.
- Liaising with the Finance Department as necessary to include key account management.
- Other duties as determined by on-going business requirements.
Requirements
- Proven people skills, organisational skills and administrative skills.
- Computer literate, with a strong background in Excel with a willingness to learn new specialised IT systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks carefully and accurately.
- Ability to organise own workload and willingness to assist others if required.
- Flexibility to take on new tasks and assignments.
- Warehousing knowledge and a keen interest in the heavy truck/automotive business would be an advantage.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to build and manage relationships.
